The next tour will be on 3rd May for the Celtic festival of Bealtaine, where it was a tradition to visit holy wells. This falls about midway between the spring equinox and summer solstice. Ann has a deep spiritual connection with this part of Slieve Gullion, Killeavy (meaning church of the mountain). Her mother was born on the mountain just below a sacred, pre-Christian holy well and her grandfather helped to build a shrine here in 1929.
You will visit the 5th century monastery founded by Moninne, one of the first female saints in Ireland (who was Christened by St. Patrick). Ann will share stories on the history of the ancient sites and you will experience the deep silence and palpable sense of peace within these sacred grounds.
Ann will then gently guide you up a meandering little path towards the holy well dedicated to Moninne. She will point out healing herbs along the way and a special seat her Father built in dedication to her Mum.
You will learn about Celtic healing rituals and the sacred significance of water. Rest, reconnect and breathe in the spectacular panoramic view during a guided meditation. We will celebrate our sacred journey with a special tea ceremony.
